DEAD SLEEP
The album opener is a raucous and gritty track that feels much like the inside of my skull at times of sleep deprivation.
AGAIN BUT BEFORE
Track two is my take on a fun 70s style cop show theme song. Laden with horns and trashy guitars.
COLD WARS
Track three is a full on art piece representing the penchant humans have for fighting over imaginary lines in the earth.
It ends with a battle sequence I created.
DAD DINNER
Track four is a silly song about vegetables. My boy Dorian helped with the lyrics on this one. It’s in a country/rockabilly vibe and a nice clean and rich recording. (I can do that when I choose too haha)
HELLO
Track five is my cover of a classic Lionel Richie track. I’ve always loved it and my version is a bit different while paying homage to the original.
INTERMISSION
YEAST EXCREMENT
Track six is a simple driving jam about the legal poison we call alcohol. Oh how it makes us such wonderfully behaved animals.
THE BOX
Track seven is another art piece. It deals with anticipation and not living in the moment.
Waiting and pining for something better, something new and exciting while missing what’s in front of your face. Part one examines that feeling. The middle is the opening of the box. Part three is how we go right back to the same feeling after we get what we’ve anticipated. Part 4 is contemplation and the hard and sometimes dark work it takes to not be like that.
THE IN-BETWEEN
Track eight is another nice clean recording and represents a place I frequent between the world of awake and the world of sleep. Nylon string guitar and lush synths.
FUKYABOI
Track 9 is a fun nasty track about my car. A 1979 Camaro built to run. It’s barely street legal and all the car sounds you hear are field recordings of my actual car.
TRALFAMADORIAN YULE
Track 10 is inspired by Kurt Vonnegut. The first movement is what the beings of Tralfamadore may compose if they celebrated Yule. The ending movement is an orchestral composition using some familiar Yule themes ending in a bombastic climax
